1. #DENMARK Police in Copenhagen have shot a man dead in Norrebro who they believe was behind shootings yesterday. The attacks began when a controversial cartoonist was giving a talk in a café.

2. #POLLS A Sunday Independent/Millward poll says that Sinn Féin is currently the most popular political party, with a drop in support for Independents. It also shows that Fine Gael is up 3%, while Labour and Fianna Fáil are both up 1%.

3. #UKRAINE A Ukraine ceasefire began at midnight – but two civilians are already reported to have been killed, according to a pro-Kiev official.

4.  #CANCER Today is International Childhood Cancer Day. There are more than 200 Irish children diagnosed with cancer each year, and the day aims to raise awareness of the strain this puts on families.

5. #WE’RE SORRY HSBC has published a full-page ad in a number of newspapers apologising over tax evasion claims about its Swiss private bank.

6. #TFMR The Attorney General advised Cabinet last week that in Ireland abortion can’t be permitted for cases of fatal foetal abnormality, the Sunday Business Post reports. It says that the AG said in some cases there is a possibility the baby could be born alive.

7. #WINNER The winner of the top prize in the prestigious Berlin Film Festival is Jafar Panahi – who is outlawed by Iran from travelling abroad and made his movie in defiance of an official ban.

8. #JOBS The government hired 284 JobBridge interns, but just three of them were subsequently hired at their host departments, the Sunday Independent reports.

9. #CHOCOLATE KING The man behind Ferrero Rocher, Michele Ferrero, has died aged 89. He was the man responsible for turning Nutella into the chocolate treat it is today.

    Sunday Independent publishes a poll showing Sinn Fein is most popular party. It publishes another story that is critical of JobBridge.

    And yet, Sinn Fein insists the Independent Group is nothing more than a Government mouthpiece.

    Does this show SF is becoming paranoid?
