The 9 at 9 As you wake up on this Sunday, here’s what you need to know.

EVERY MORNING,TheJournal.ie brings you the stories you need to know as you wake up.

1. #YES: You may have heard, but Ireland voted to legalise same-sex marriage yesterday.

2. #AROUND THE COUNTRY: Only one constituency voted against the referendum – Roscommon-South Leitrim.

3. #NO: However, the presidential age referendum was overwhelmingly rejected. Sorry, Niall Horan, Jedward and everyone under 35.

4. #ALL EYES ON US: The referendum also made headlines around the world.

5. #CARLOW-KILKENNY: The Dáil has a new TD. Fianna Fáil’s Bobby Aylward was deemed elected in Carlow-Kilkenny early this morning.

6. #SWEDE DREAMS: Sweden claimed the Eurovision title, with Ireland not in the final and the UK bombing.

7. #USC: The Sunday Times reports that the government will cut USC, not scrap it, in this year’s Budget.

8. #TB: A batch of TB vaccines for babies has been delayed, but the Health Minister says it is nothing to worry about.

9. #HOSTAGE: An Irishman held hostage in Lebanon for four years says that “if you don’t have a sense of humour you are dead man walking“. Brian Keenan will speak to Miriam O’Callaghan today to mark 25 years since his release.

We didn’t “vote yesterday to legalise same sex marriage.” We voted on Friday. I know it’s all been a bit of a blur since then, but really…

Maybe the referendum should have been about one man and his sheep. Definitely would have been a massive yes vote from our country brethren.
