6. #INSOLVENCY: Thousands of people have contacted the Insolvency Service of Ireland in the first three months of its existence according to recently-released figures. The website of the ISI has been visited over 107,000 times.

7. #HEALTH INSURANCE: People who have taken out health insurance at a young age will be rewarded over those who take out a policy in later life under plans being formulated by Health Minister James Reilly, the Irish Independent reports today.

8. #O’CONNELL TOWER: Visitors to the famous O’Connell Round Tower in Glasnevin Cemetery will soon be able to climb to the top of it for the first time in over four decades with planning permission to reconstruct its wooden staircase secured in recent weeks. The nationalist monument was bombed by loyalists in 1971.

9. #INDIA: An Indian gangster linked to dozens of murders escaped from police custody after apparently serving food laced with sedatives to officers guarding him. AFP reports that Vikram Paras carried out the daring escape as four armed officers were escorting him from the busy Old Delhi Railway Station in the capital yesterday.
