90-year-old man dies after being blown into a bus

The incident happened during yesterday’s stormy weather.

AN ELDERLY MAN in the UK has died after being hit by a bus.

The incident happened at around 12.35pm during yesterday’s stormy conditions in Finchley, an area in the north of London.

London’s Metropolitan Police believe the 90-year-old man was blown off the pavement and into a bus by a gust of wind.

It happened on Chaville Way, close to Finchley Central Station.

Medics arriving at the scene attempted to perform CPR but it was too late to save the man’s life.

He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 1pm. Officers at the scene said that they believed they knew the man’s identity and that his next of kin had been informed.

Enquiries into the exact circumstances of what happened are ongoing. No arrests were made in connection with the incident.

A number of road closures were in place after the incident, although these have now been removed.
