Gardaí dealt with thirty-one 999 calls about this at the weekend (yes, it's a mattress...)

The suspect wasn’t difficult to spot.

Updated at midday.

WE CAN ONLY imagine the descriptions of the suspect…

“Around 6′ 3″ wide and 4′ 6″ tall, guard… Dressed mostly in white… Make that off-white.”

Yes, gardaí dealt with a total of 31 calls to their 999 emergency service about this mattress at the weekend – after it was seen hanging around at the side of the N25.

Concerned citizens will be pleased to hear the issue’s now been put to bed.

(No details on which garda station the suspect’s being held at).

Note: Updated with a new hashtag thanks to the divan intervention of commenter ‘Grigori Rasputin’.
