This heartbreaking photo of an ‘abandoned’ dog will melt your heart

Lana has been dubbed the ‘saddest dog in the world’.

THIS IS LANA.

Last week, Toronto-based kennel Mighty Mutts posted this heartbreaking photo of a dejected Lana and it immediately captured people’s attention.

Dubbed “the saddest dog in the world,” the photo was taken just after Lana was returned to the kennel by the family who had adopted her just a few months earlier.

Dahlia Ayoub of Mighty Mutts told The Dodo that the dog started snapping and the family felt compelled to bring her back to the kennel. And poor Lana was left feeling utterly destroyed.

She just shut down. It’s almost like her world shut down.

Shortly after the photo was shared on Facebook, Lana’s story spread like wildfire across social media.

And soon, someone stepped up and fostered the sad pup.

Mighty Mutts shared the good news on their Facebook page on Saturday.

We would like to thank everyone who has offered support to help Lana find her furever home! We are happy to announce that she is currently in a foster home.
