Firefighters battle blazes at two abandoned pubs in Dublin

Five fire engines were called to the old Cuckoo’s Nest pub in Tallaght last night.

A MAJOR FIRE at an abandoned pub in Dublin was brought under control by firefighters last night.

Dublin Fire Brigade says that they were called to the fire at the old Cuckoo’s Nest pub on Greenhills Road in Tallaght at about 10.15 pm yesterday.

A total of five fire engines were used to battle the fire which was brought under control about two hours later at just after midnight.

Nobody was found inside the building and nobody was injured in the fire. Gardaí were also at the scene last night and an investigation has been launched.

Earlier yesterday, another abandoned pub in Chuchtown also went on fire with three units of DFB tasked to the scene. The smaller fire was dealt with by the firefighters and was brought under control at about 4pm.
