Poll: Could you afford to pay €3 a week?

Leo Varadkar yesterday criticised protesters taking to the street over water charges.

MINISTER LEO VARADKAR yesterday hit out at those protesting against water charges when there are “much bigger problems in Irish society”, such as the Áras Attracta controversy.

“It really bothers me that people are out protesting about €3 a week in water charges,” he said – the figure for the amount it will cost a household of two or more adults for their water supply when Irish Water bills are issued next spring.

However, others have criticised the charge as it could be pushing some families to the limit of their budgets.

We want to know about your situation: Whether or not you’re going to pay, could you afford €3 a week in water charges?

Poll Results:

Yes, no problem (7646)
No (4142)
Only if I sacrifice something else (2585)
I don't know (468)
