Two men charged after attacking three occupants in aggravated burglary

The men – aged in their 40s and late teens – were due to appear at Clonmel District Court this morning.

GARDAÍ IN TIPPERARY have charged two people in connection with an aggravated burglary that happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Two men – aged in their 40s and late teens – were detained after they allegedly entered a house in Clonmel armed with weapons, and attacked the three occupants of the home.

A man in his 60s, a woman in her 60s and a man in his late teens were in the house at the time.

While the woman was uninjured, the other two were taken to South Tipperary General Hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

After a number of follow-up searches by gardaí in the area, the two men were arrested and taken to Clonmel Garda Station.

They have since been charged and were due to appear before Clonmel District Court at 10.30am this morning.
