The woman and children were not harmed by the men but were left badly shaken.

TWO MEN ARMED with a knife and gun threatened a woman and two young children during an aggravated burglary in Armagh in the early hours of this morning.

Shortly after midnight the armed men entered the house in Lurgan, searched it and stolen a number of items.

The woman and children were not harmed by the men but were left badly shaken.

Detectives are now investigating the aggravated burglary that happened in the Ashwood area.

The first man is described as being in his early 20′s, around 5’11″ tall, thin build and was wearing a peach coloured jumper and carrying a knife.

The second man is described as being in his late 20′s, around 5’6″ tall, stocky build and was reported to have been carrying a gun.

Detectives are urging anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact them in CID at Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101.

Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
