Man hospitalised after being attacked and robbed at his home

The man sustained head injuries in the assault yesterday evening.

A MAN IN his 50s has been hospitalised after an aggravated burglary at his home yesterday evening.

The man returned to his home at Studfiels South, Donard in Wicklow at 7pm. As he entered, he was assaulted, sustaining head injuries. He was put in a room in the house, which was then ransacked.

He later raised the alarm and was taken to Naas Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time or in recent days to contact Baltinglass Garda Station on 059-6482610, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
