Today FM have shaken up their line-up with another new presenter

Al Porter will present a lunchtime show.

COMEDIAN AL PORTER has been announced as the new lunchtime presenter on Today FM.

The station confirmed the news on the Dermot & Dave Show at 11am and also streamed the announcement on their Facebook page.

Dermot & Dave had previously presented a show on Porter’s new slot from 12pm but they were moved earlier in the schedule after the contentious departure of Anton Savage.

The news means that the changes to Today FM’s morning and afternoon weekday shows are now complete for the immediate future.

Announcing the capture of Porter, CEO of Today FM Keith McCormack described him as “a rising star”.

“Today FM is on an exciting journey, an evolution of the station, where we bring together new talent with established household names to offer our listeners a great variety of music and talk,” McCormack said.

Going on air to make the announcement, Porter said that he wants his new show to be a “feel good” show.

“I want it to be light and very feel good, I don’t want to go down the news line. I considered calling it the Al Porter Breakfast Show because I only get up at half 12 anyway,” he said.
