Woman arrested in relation to fatal hit-and-run of Alan McSherry

Alan McSherry was struck by a car in the early hours of August 25 last. His body was discovered on the road by his wife.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING A fatal hit-and-run traffic collision at Ardfarn, Bundoran, County Donegal last August have arrested a female aged in her 20s.

She was arrested earlier today in Ballyshannon and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Ballyshannon Garda Station.

The body of 48-year-old Alan McSherry was discovered on a road at Ardfarn, Bundoran, in the early hours of Sunday August 25 last.

Wife found body

His body was discovered by his wife just after 5am on the Newtown Road about a mile from Bundoran.

Gardaí investigation is ongoing.
