Amazon cloud computing outage hits Reddit, FourSquare, Quora

Sites struck by outage at Amazon server based in North Virigina.

AN OUTAGE AT AMAZON’S EC2 cloud computing service has brought down a number of sites, including the popular Quora, Reddit and FourSquare.

Amazon said it is working on problems at the system based in North Virginia. The issue has been going on for about six hours.

The computer company sells server space which saves many internet start-ups and smaller companies from having to invest in costly server infrastructure themselves.

A message on Reddit says: “Amazon is currently experiencing a degradation. They are working on it. We are still waiting on them to get to our volumes. Sorry.”
