Ambulance carrying a child involved in crash in Louth

An investigation into the incident has been launched.

TWO PEOPLE WERE injured in a collision between a car and ambulance, reportedly carrying a child, in Louth yesterday afternoon.

The crash took place on the Slane Road, Drogheda, at around 4.15pm.

Gardaí say the driver of the car and a passenger in the ambulance were brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RTÉ News reports the ambulance was carrying a child at the time.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.

A spokesperson for the HSE said:

The National Ambulance Service can confirm that an ambulance in the North-East was involved in an incident on Sunday afternoon at approximately 4.30pm; a minor collision between the Ambulance and one other car.

“The patient, crew and the driver of the car were treated at the scene by attending EMTs and were transported to hospital.”
