Someone in America has won €488 million on the lotto

If they opt for a lump sum, they will receive “only” $380 million (€343 million).

A SINGLE WINNER has scooped $540 million (€488 million) on an American lottery.

The winning ticket was sold in the state of Indiana for last night’s Mega Millions draw.

The winning numbers were 8, 19, 20, 55, and 73. The mega ball was 5. The lucky winner has yet to come forward to claim their prize, the third-largest Mega Millions prize ever.

It is the seventh largest lottery prize in US history.

Back in January, three players shared a $1.58 billion pot.

As with all US lottery prizes, the top prize will only be paid out if the winner decides to take the winnings in 30 yearly installments of $18 million (€16.3 million).

If they opt for a lump sum, they will receive “only” $380 million (€343 million).

At home, there was no winner of last night’s Euromillions jackpot.
