A life's work: Stunning photos taken by journalist killed in Afghanistan

The photojournalist was shot dead by police yesterday ahead of the country’s presidential election vote.

AS VOTERS IN AFGHANISTAN take part in a landmark election to choose a president for the country, the world is still reeling from news of the death of award-winning photojournalist Anja Niedringhaus.

The Associated Press photographer was killed and a colleague seriously wounded after police opened fire on her car yesterday.

These stunning photos are just an example of her work over the last number of years.
