Appeal for witnesses after pensioner assaulted and robbed in Kilkenny

The 86-year-old woman was attacked yesterday morning.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses after an elderly woman was assaulted and robbed on the street in Kilkenny City.

The 86-year-old woman was walking on College View, Walkin Street at around 11.30am yesterday morning when she was attacked by a man.

A man in his thirties has been arrested and is being held at Kilkenny Garda Station.

The woman is in a serious but stable condition in St. Luke’s Hospital.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who might have witnessed the incident to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 7775000 or on the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111
