Appeal for witnesses to Cork city attack

A man in his 20s was seriously injured in the incident on Grand Parade early yesterday morning.

GARDAÍ IN CORK are appealing for witnesses to an incident in the city early yesterday morning in which a man was seriously injured.

A man in his mid-20s was allegedly assaulted just outside a shop on Grand Parade between 2.15am and 2.45am yesterday.

He was taken initially to Mercy Hospital before being transferred to Cork University Hospital.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who saw the incident or who was in the area and could help them with their inquiries. Anyone who may have any information is asked to contact gardaí at Anglesea Street Garda Station on 021 4522 000 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
