There are reports today that tax cuts and spending increases worth €3 billion will be unveiled – twice what was previously expected.

With an election around the corner, the Fine Gael/Labour coalition will be hoping tomorrow’s announcement will boost its popularity.

People can expect a more favourable budget than years gone by, but some are still not feeling the effects of the economic recovery – and others worry that a giveaway Budget could damage the economy.
