Argos looking to recruit 670 Christmas workers

Staff are needed for the holiday rush, says the retailer.

ARGOS HAS ANNOUNCED a Christmas recruitment drive which will see 670 temporary positions offered at the retailer’s UK and Irish stores.

The company said it hoped today’s news would be welcomed in what continues to be a “challenging jobseekers’ market”.

Operations manager Andy McClelland said that Christmas is the busiest period for the firm and extra help is always required.

The roles available across the 40 shops in the Republic are for up to three months but some will be extended out to 16 weeks. There is also potential for some permanent employment contracts, claimed Argos.

Argos currently employs about 1,500 people in Ireland. Application forms for the jobs can be collected at Argos stores.
