Arrest over stabbing in Donaghmede

The man in his 20s died following the stabbing, and a man has now been arrested by gardaí in Coolock.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man in relation to the stabbing of  a man in his 20s earlier this week.

Gardaí in Coolock have arrested a man in his mid 20s this morning, in relation to the death of Shane O’Connor on Monday 29 October in Donaghmede.

The man is currently detained at Coolock Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Shortly after 7 am on Monday, gardaí received a 999 call that a man was lying injured on St Donagh’s Road, Donaghmede. The man in his late 20s was removed to Beaumont Hospital with stab wounds and he passed away a short time later.

Gardaí appeal to any persons who may have been in the area of St Donagh’s Road and may have witnessed an incident to contact Coolock garda station on 01 6664200, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
