Man arrested following attempted robbery at Wicklow cafe

Gardaí say an “implement” was used in the robbery, but there were no injuries.

GARDAÍ ARRESTED A 33-year-old man following a robbery at a café in Wicklow yesterday.

A man entered the premises in Ashford just after 3.30pm yesterday with what gardaí described as an “implement”.

He threatened staff, but no one was injured during the incident and the man left empty handed.

Following a search of the local area one man was arrested, and brought to Wicklow Garda Station but was later released without charge.

A file has been prepared for the DPP.
