Arrests follow drugs seizure in Avoca

Gardaí in Wicklow Drugs Unit seized an estimated €102,000-worth of drugs today.

GARDAÍ FROM the Wicklow District Drugs Unit have seized an estimated €102,000-worth of cannabis resin and herbal cannabis during the search of a forested area of Garnagowlan, Woodenbridge, Avoca, today.

One man, 36, and a 23-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the seizure and are being detained at Arklow Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí said that the operation was “surveillance-driven” as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Wicklow area.
