Shoppers watch as two men are arrested on city street for drugs offences

A small amount of drugs was recovered by gardaí

TWO MEN WERE arrested in broad daylight on a city centre street in Cork over drugs offences today.

A photo from the scene, shared on Twitter, showed one of the men on the ground near a garda van.

A garda spokesperson said that two men were arrested under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Oliver Plunkett St at 3.15pm today.

Gardaí found a small amount of drugs during the arrest.

One man, who was in his 30s, was released without charge. The second male remains in custody.
