FOUR PEOPLE HAVE been injured in a shooting incident at a New York wedding last night.
The reception was taking place at the world-famous Waldorf Astoria hotel when the incident happened.
A guest’s firearm went off accidentally at about 7.25pm according to police reports, with the bullet discharging into the floor.
In a briefing at the hotel Manhattan’s chief detective William Aubry said four people were hit by shrapnel from either the bullet or its resultant debris reports the New York Daily News.
None of the injuries sustained are thought to be life-threatening.
A 55-year-old woman named Maya Rafailovich was rushed to hospital in her black cocktail dress with blood streaming down her face.
The male guest whose gun went off was apprehended and arrested at the scene.

Five people injured? Like, say it was an accidental discharge. This guy didn’t bring his personal sidearm (pretty sure NY doesn’t have open carry anyway, why he got arrested) he must’ve at least brought a shotgun or an automatic. Or, there was nothing accidental about it.

Diamond merchants/traders are the only people in New York City that can get a concealed weapon carry permit. No open carry permits in the big smoke….. Either out of towners gowling at the wedding or as someone mentioned before the old mafia
Certain cases exist where exemptions are given to people to carry personal sidearms. Anthony Cumia – a well known American comic famously had his own gun on him while being attacked while walking around times square at night. He never brandished his weapon however…. and instead went on twitter to racistly rant at what happened to him resulting in him getting fired from his high profile job on radio!

There have been weddings where I’ve wished I had a gun, especially when ‘Love is all around me’ cracks off.
Let’s all sneer and criticise Americans and their guns while ignoring the fact irish travellers have turned weddings and christenings into blood sports.
