Michael Bugler has been missing in Galway since last Thursday night

Potential sightings at student village as search continues for missing student

Michael Bugler was last seen on Thursday night.

THE SEARCH FOR a missing student is continuing today with his family appealing for anyone who has seen him or who has any information on his whereabouts to come forward.

Michael Bugler (20) has been missing since Thursday night. He was last seen in the Quay Street area of Galway city on Friday at around 1am.

CCTV footage showed Michael passing the Claddagh church at 00.58am. It appears that he was on his way home to Fairhill Road.

His sister Laura said on Facebook last night that there had been some potential sightings of Michael at the Gort na Coirbe student village, on Headford Road in the centre of the city at 3am.

“We have made good progress with CCTV today and there have some potential sightings at Gort na Coirbe at approximately 03.00am on Thursday night,” she said.

“If you have seen Michael at any point in the night please contact me and let me know.”

Michael is described as being 5’9″ in height, of thin build with short brown hair and blue eyes. When last seen he was wearing a blue coloured jumper and jeans.

He is originally from Ennis, Co Clare but has been living in Galway and is currently in his third year studying law at NUIG.

Michael’s sister also appealed for a group of students who may have met him in a bar to come forward if they have not already done so.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who has any information on his whereabouts to contact them at Galway Garda Station on 091 538000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
