Man arrested in connection with murder of Louth taxi-driver last year

Gardaí said that they had arrested a 22 year-old-man this evening in the Dundalk area in connection with the death of Martin Mulligan (53).

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE murder of a taxi driver in Co Louth last year have arrested a man in Dundalk.

Gardaí said that they had arrested a 22-year-old man this evening in the Dundalk area in connection with the death of Martin Mulligan (53), who was found dead in the early hours of 28 September.

Mulligan’s body was discovered in the Kilcurry area of Dundalk and a post-mortem found that he had died of multiple stab wounds.

The man is currently being detained at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

A cross-border investigation between gardaí and the PSNI was launched last year following the the murder.
