67-year-old arrested over murder of man in Rathmines

A man (67) was arrested this morning in connection with a death and is currently being detained at Rathmines Garda station.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man over the discovery of the body of another man at a house in Summerville Park in Rathmines, south Dublin yesterday.

Gardaí received a call last night at 11.30pm and attended an incident at a house in Summerville Park.

They found an unresponsive man (59) who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene was preserved overnight with the body remaining there.

The State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy attended the scene this morning and later carried out a post mortem on the body at the City Morgue, Marino.

A man (67) was arrested this morning in connection with the incident and is currently being detained at Rathmines garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
