Staff threatened with baseball bat and gun during Dublin armed robbery

The men, aged between 38 and 45, are being questioned by officers.

THREE MEN SUSPECTED of being involved in the armed robbery of a shop in Coolock, Dublin, have been arrested by gardaí.

A premises in the Edenmore area of north Dublin was held up at around 6.30pm yesterday evening.

Gardaí said three men, who were masked and believed to be armed with a firearm and a baseball bat, entered the shop and demanded money from staff.

They left the premises on foot with a small amount of cash and cigarettes.

A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí have arrested three men, 38, 39 and 45 years, in connection with an investigation into the robbery of a convenience store located at a shopping complex in Edenmore, Coolock, Dublin that occurred yesterday evening at approximately 6.30pm.

“Gardaí arrested two men a short time later, close to the scene. A third man was later arrested. All three men are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended at Coolock and Swords Garda Stations.

“A firearm and a baseball bat were recovered by Gardaí and have been seized for technical examination.”
