Aer Lingus flight diverted after plane goes off the runway at Kerry Airport

No one was injured in the incident.

AN AER LINGUS flight had to be diverted from Kerry Airport after a smaller plane went off the runway today.

A spokesperson for Kerry Airport at Farranfore said that a small aircraft had gone off the runway earlier today.

The plane had one pilot and no passengers.

No one was injured in the incident, but the runway had to be closed.

This resulted in a regional flight from Dublin that was to due to land at the airport at 1pm being diverted back to Dublin Airport.

A flight that was due to leave from Kerry to Dublin at 1.20pm had to be cancelled.

A spokesperson confirmed that busses will be used to bring passengers to Dublin as a result.

The spokesperson said that later flights should not be affected by the incident.
