Appeal for witnesses to Kildare petrol station shop robbery

Two men, armed with a hammer and a knife, stole cash from the petrol station store.

GARDAÍ ARE SEEKING witnesses following a robbery at a petrol station shop in Clane Co Kildare yesterday evening.

At around 8.30pm, two men entered the forecourt of the petrol station in a stolen yellow Skoda Citigo car, and both men entered the shop.

One man stood at the door, keeping a look-out and armed with what appeared to be a knife.

A second man went to the counter, threatened two female staff with a hammer and left with a quantity of cash. No one was injured during the incident.

The car used in the incident was a 141 D reg Skoda Citigo which had been stolen a week earlier on 1 December in Balbriggan, Co Dublin.

Anyone with any information about the incident, or who saw this car between the 1 and 11 December 2016 is asked to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884300.
