Poll: Should you split the bill on the first date?'

An awkward interaction on First Dates has sparked the debate.

RTÉ’s First Dates is back on our screens and we were treated to the cringe-worthy scene of one intrepid couple going Dutch and splitting the bill.

Back in 2015, a study by Nerdwallet found that 77% of people in straight relationships believe men should pay the bill on a first date.

But many people have said this is an outdated concept and couples should always split the bill down the middle.

Given it’s close to Valentine’s Day, we want to know what you think: Should you split the bill on the first date?

Poll Results:

Yes (7260)
If you asked them out, you pay (6815)
No Way (4913)
