'Ok, it’s enough': Trump cuts short interview when pushed over Obama wiretap claim

Trump didn’t respond well to the interviewer’s line of questioning.

UNITED STATES PRESIDENT Donald Trump cut short an interview with American broadcaster CBS, after the interviewer pushed him to explain his allegations that former president Barack Obama had ordered surveillance on him.

In an interview with CBS’s Face the Nation from inside the Oval Office which aired today, Trump was questioned over the first 100 days of his presidency and his plans on health care.

The interviewer – John Dickerson – brings up Obama and Trump says:

“He was very nice to me but after that we had some difficulties.

So, it doesn’t matter, you know words are less important to me than deeds.

When the interviewer asked Trump to clarify a tweet in which he accused his predecessor Obama of tapping his phones and calling him “sick”, Trump cut the interview short.

The interviewer – John Dickerson – asked Trump if he stood by his claims that Obama was a “sick and bad guy”.

“I don’t stand by anything,” said Trump.

I just – you can take it the way you want. I think our side’s been proven very strongly. And everybody’s talking about it. And frankly it should be discussed. I think that is a very big surveillance of our citizens. I think it’s a very big topic. And it’s a topic that should be number 1 and we should find out what the hell is going on.

Dickerson pushed him to explain further and Trump said:

“You don’t have to ask me.”

“Why not?” Dickerson asks.

Because I have my own opinions. You can have your own opinions.

“But you’re the President of the United States,” Dickerson replies.

Trump then stops the interview, saying:

Ok, it’s enough. Thank you. Thank you very much.
