Firefighters battle blaze at derelict pub in Balbriggan

DUBLIN FIRE BRIGADE units have contained a fire at a derelict pub in Balbriggan.

Four fire pumps and a turntable ladder attended the fire at the closed down De Bruin’s Bar on Bride Street in Balbriggan.

The street was closed off as units dealt with the “significant” fire at the pub.

DFB tweeted that the fire had been contained shortly after 7pm.

Firefighting will continue from some time in order to prevent re-ignition.

Significant damage was done to the building.
