Three more arrests in Patricia O'Connor murder investigation

The 61-year-old grandmother’s remains were found scattered across the Wicklow Mountains in June.

THREE MORE ARRESTS have been made by gardaí investigating the murder of 61-year-old Patricia O’Connor.

O’Connor’s remains were discovered scattered in a 30km area across the Wicklow Mountains, including a human head and arms in a plastic bag, in June this year.

Days after the body was discovered, gardaí charged a 32-year-old man with the murder of the elderly woman. The man, who’s the son-in-law of O’Connor, told the court that “it was self-defence“.

Today, investigating gardaí made three further arrests in relation to this case: a 73-year-old man in Co Meath and two women aged 19 and 38 in Dublin.

The three are currently detained at Bray and Wicklow Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The investigation is ongoing.

Comments are off as legal proceedings are ongoing.
