'It could have injured itself badly': DSPCA criticise man who rode horse through Dublin pub

A video has emerged online of a man riding a horse through a Dublin pub.

THE DSPCA is investigating footage which emerged this week of a man riding a horse through a Dublin pub.

The video emerged on social media earlier this week of a man riding the horse through a packed Cabra pub in north Dublin, before making his way outside with the animal.

The video shows pub-goers cheering as the man rides the horse through the pub.

A spokesperson for the DSPCA has condemned the unusual situation.

“We can say that this is not an ideal environment for a horse to put it mildly. If the animal had been startled it could have injured itself very badly, it could have harmed a bystander very badly.

“Our inspectors are looking into it.”

It is believed that the video emerged on social media last Saturday evening.

Speaking of the dangers of having a horse in a packed pub, the spokesperson said:

In such a situation you’ve a number of different things that can go wrong – the horse can have injuries to its feet, or it could kick out as well.

“All we can say at the moment is that our inspectors are investigating the video.”
