A MAN WHO met a ‘prospective buyer’ for his car at a graveyard in Dunshaughlin was attacked by a man, had his car stolen and was knocked down by the man’s female accomplice.

It is believed that the terrifying incident happened as two young children were sitting in the car in which the assailant arrived.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened outside the graveyard in the Co Meath town, located opposite St Seachnall’s National School.

The man had arranged to meet a person who had said they were interested in buying his car, a white Mercedes C220 with a 142-D registration. The victim pulled up at the graveyard at around 6.20pm, with his car facing in the Dublin direction.

A red Toyota Auris car with an 05-D registration pulled in behind him and a man approached him from the passenger seat of this car. This man assaulted the owner of the car and drove the Mercedes off in the Dublin direction.

The alleged culprit is described as being about 5ft 11in, with short black hair and sallow skin.

The victim stood in front of the red Toyota Auris, which was being driven by a woman driver, and tried to stop it leaving the scene. It is believed that the woman had two children in the car at the time. One of these children was about 7 years of age.

However, the woman drove away and knocked the victim to the ground. He received minor injuries in the incident. The Toyota then followed the Mercedes in the Dublin direction.

The female driver is described as being aged in her 30s, of heavy build, and with long brown hair.
