Presenter Sarah McInerney is leaving Newstalk

Her colleague Chris Donoghue announced that he would be leaving the station on Saturday.

JOURNALIST AND PRESENTER Sarah McInerney is leaving her role at Newstalk.

As first reported in The Times (Ireland edition), McInerney is leaving the role to concentrate on other career options.

The Communicorp-owned station confirmed this morning that McInerney would host the last episode of her weekend show Between The Lines on Saturday 23 December.

Speaking about the announcement, operations director at Newstalk Chris Doyle said:

“On behalf of the team here in Newstalk I would like to thank Sarah for her hard work and commitment to the station and wish her every success in the future.”

McInerney co-hosted the Drivetime evening show on Newstalk with Chris Donoghue, who announced his own departure from the station on Saturday.

Former Sunday Tribune journalist McInerney also presents The Sunday Show on TV3, a role she is expected to keep.

A revised weekend schedule for Newstalk will be announced in due course, the radio station said.
