Arrest made after body of man (60s) found at house in Cork

The body was found at a house in the Galway’s Lane area of Douglas earlier today.

A MAN HAS been arrested following the discovery of a body at a house in Cork.

The body, of a man in his 60s , was found at a house in the Galway’s Lane area of Douglas at around 8.30am.

The man, who is in his 20s, was arrested this afternoon. He is being detained at Togher Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the body remains at the scene.

The State Pathologist has been informed and a postmortem will determine the course of the investigation.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Galway’s Lane area of Douglas between 10pm yesterday and 8.30am today to contact Togher Garda Station on 021 494 7120, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
