Recall: Over 2,000 drivers in Ireland warned about safety issue with their Dacia cars

It is the third time a major vehicle manufacturer has issued a recall in recent days.

DACIA HAS ISSUED a voluntary recall of more than 2,000 vehicles on the Irish market over a safety issue.

The recall affects Dacia Sandero II (X52) and Dacia Logan II MCV vehicles produced between February 2013 and June 2015.

The company is recalling the cars due to a manufacturing fault that affects the fuel pipes on the vehicles.

A notice from the company read: “Dacia has identified a safety issue, whereby, due to a manufacturing fault, the fuel pipe may rub on the headlight cable and/or air-conditioning hose, which can cause a fuel leak onto the road surface.”

The company added that there are 2,291 affected vehicles on the Irish market, whose owners will be notified by post if their car needs to be recalled.

It is the third time in recent days that a major vehicle manufacturer has been forced to issue a recall.

Yesterday, Mercedes-Benz recalled 57 X-Class vehicles in Australia over a software error in the vehicle’s tyre pressure monitoring system.

Meanwhile, BMW also issued a recall in the US yesterday for 2,376 G310 R and G310 GS motorbikes over an issue with the chassis, just a day before both bikes launched in India.
