Man (30s) arrested after body of man (70s) discovered in unexplained circumstances in Co Clare

The man was arrested for offences under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.

A MAN HAS been arrested following the discovery of the body of an elderly man at a home in Co Clare this morning. 

The body of the man, aged in his 70s, was discovered in unexplained circumstances at the home in Lisdoonvarna. 

The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination is being carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau. State Pathologist Margaret Bolster has attended the scene. 

The man’s body has been removed from the scene and taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will take place. The result of the post-mortem will direct the course of the investigation. 

A man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested for offences under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.
