Man due in court after gardaí and customs seize more than €100,000 of ecstasy in Dublin raid

The seizure is part of a wide ranging investigation into organised crime in the capital.

A 29-YEAR-old man is due in court this morning charged in relation to the seizure of €100k worth of ecstasy.

Yesterday, gardaí and customs officers seized tablets and a 1.8 kilo block of the drug in a raid in Dublin.  

A garda spokesperson said that earlier today detectives from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau along with the Revenue Commissioners Customs Service and Store Street Drugs unit carried out a search in Dublin 1. 

Gardaí said that the search was part of a long term investigation into Organised Crime Groups in the city and was intelligence led. 

This morning, a garda spokesman said: “Gardaí investigating the joint intelligence led operation that took place in Dublin 1 on Monday 15th August, 2022 have charged the arrested man in relation to the incident.

“The man aged 29 years was detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Store Street Garda station and is due to appear before Criminal Courts of Justice, Court number 1 this morning Tuesday 16th August, 2022 at 10.30am.”
