Man, 50s, dies after being hit by van in Co Sligo

The man was fatally injured and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A MAN IN his 50s who was travelling on an e-scooter has died after being struck by a van.

Gardaí are currently at the scene of the collision, which occurred yesterday evening in Riverstown, County Sligo around 8.10pm.

The man was fatally injured and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The male driver of the van, aged in his 30s, received minor injuries and is receiving medical treatment at Sligo University Hospital.

The L1303 road has been closed in Rusheen to allow for a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them, especially anyone who was travelling in the area of Rusheen, Riverstown yesterday evening between 7.30pm and 8.15pm and who may have camera footage (including from dash cams).
