Teen charged for assault in Dundalk that left man hospitalised with serious injuries

The juvenile is expected to appear before Trim District Court at 10:30am this morning.

A  MALE JUVENILE has been arrested and charged after a serious assault in Dundalk on Sunday.

Gardaí said the incident occurred at around 6:30pm in the Rampart Lane area of the town.

The man, aged in his 20s, received serious injuries and was removed from the scene to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. The scene was preserved and a technical examination was conducted.

The male, a juvenile in his teens, is expected to appear before Trim District Court at 10:30am this morning.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and were travelling in the area of Rampart Lane, Dundalk between 6pm and 7pm on Sunday 6th August 2023 are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.

Investigations are ongoing.
