Couple tied-up at gunpoint and assaulted in east Belfast

A large quantity of jeweller was taken from the house.

THREE MEN, ONE armed with a suspected handgun, tied up and assaulted a couple at a house in East Belfast last night.

The couple were taken to hospital for medical treatment, although their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The incident occurred just after 10.30pm last night when the three men forced their way into a house in the Upper Newtownards Road area.

One was armed with a suspected handgun.

They made off with what the PSNI say was a large quantity of jewellery.

Detectives investigating the robbery have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information to contact Detectives at Musgrave Police Station.
