Thomas O’Hare and Lisa McClatchey were burned to death after six men entered their home in Armagh in 2006.

A 30-YEAR-old man from Northern Ireland has been arrested by police in Australia in connection with the murder of two people who were burned to death in Armagh six years ago.

The arrest was made following a request from PSNI to assist with the investigation by Serious Crime Branch into the murders of Thomas O’Hare and Lisa McClatchey in 2006.

33-year-old Thomas O’Hare and Lisa McClatchey, 21, were in their home on Foley Road, near Keady, Co Armagh on 6 November 2006, when up to six men entered, and set Thomas, Lisa and the house on fire.

They died as a result of their injuries. Last month two other men were arrested in connection with the murders in the Republic.

The 30-year-old man in Australia will appear in court in Sydney tomorrow when extradition proceedings will commence.
