Baby boy dies in road traffic incident in Ennis, Co Clare

It happened shortly after 12.30 this afternoon at a residential area on Quin Road, Ennis.

AN INFANT HAS died following a fatal road traffic incident in Co Clare.

It happened today shortly after 12.30pm in a residential area on Quin Road, Ennis.

The baby boy was transferred from the scene to University Hospital Limerick.

However, he has since been pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.   

A family liaison officer is being appointed to support the family and the scene is currently preserved, pending an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.

A garda spokesperson said no further information is being made available at this time.
