Parents arrested after abandoning baby on roadside during row

The parents were charged with reckless conduct.

AUTHORITIES IN FLORIDA say a man and woman are accused of leaving their 9-month-old baby on the side of the road during an argument.

Local media reports that 33-year-old Heather Demonia and 30-year-old Thomas Broome were arrested and charged with reckless conduct after the incident yesterday afternoon. The child was not injured and is in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services.

Hall County Sheriff’s Deputy Nicole Bailes says a convenience store clerk found the baby in a car seat on the side of the road and called 911.

Investigators say Demonia came back and claimed the child belonged to her.
