Brennans and Supermac’s baked products among those recalled due to possible presence of metal pieces

Batches of Johnston Mooney & O’Brien products have been recalled, impacting supermarkets including Lidl and Dunnes Stores.

THE FOOD SAFETY Authority of Ireland has recalled batches of Johnston Mooney & O’Brien baked products due to the possible presence of metal pieces.

Johnston Mooney & O’Brien is a leading provider of baked products and in addition to products under its own name, Johnston Mooney and O’Brien also distributes products to Brennans and Bundy’s.

It also distributes baked products to supermarkets and restaurants.

Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale, while wholesalers/distributors are requested to contact affected customers and recall the implicated batches.

Caterers should not use the implicated batches and consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches, all of which can be found here.

Across Brennans, the implicated batch has a best before date of 21 July and the following products are affected: Bun Days x 6; Mega Bun Days Seeded x 6; Bun Days Hot Dogs x 6; 4.5 Seeded Food Service x 6; Floury Bap x 4; Brioche x 4’ 4 ” Catering x 6; and 5 ” Catering x 6.

Implicated batches across Bundy’s also has a best before date of 21 July and the impacted products are:  Plain x 6’; Sesame Seeds x 6; Brioche Seeded x 4; Floury Bap x 4; Gourmet Brioche x 4; Gourmet Kaiser x 4; Gourmet Sourdough x 4; Super 4′s; Hot Dog x 6; and Gourmet x 4.

Dunnes Stores’s Plain Burger Buns x 6 and Seeded Burger Buns x 6 are impacted, also with a best before date of 21 July.

Also with a best before date of 21 July, the impacted Lidl products are across its “Connell Bakery” brand and include: Unseeded Burger Buns x 6; Seeded Burger Buns x 6; Gourmet Burger Bun x 4; Large Seeded Burger Bun x 6; and Hot Dog Buns x 6.

Supermac’s, Burger King, and Kepak are also affected, all with products with a best before date of 20 July.
